About The Event

About Monique Marvez -

This Comic’s Comic has earned the respect of her peers at the highest level. Her commentary in “10 Minutes in America”, international star, Gad Elmaleh’s, documentary about American comedy, ran intermittently between Woody Allen, Jerry Seinfeld and Sara Silverman. Daniel Tosh, Dave Chappell and Ray Romano to name a few, pop into clubs where she’s performing knowing she can still close the show.

Monique’s brand of equal parts AHA! and Ha! Ha! have drawn the attention of icons and influencers outside of stand up as well. She’s been asked to write for Disney, Dick Wolf Productions, collaborate with John Gray on an off Broadway production of Mars/Venus LIVE! and was the first featured non-African American on Jamie Foxx’s Foxxhole. This fortuitous event lead to Snoop Dogg requesting her specifically for his own comedy special: Snoop Dogg Presents the Bad Girls of Comedy (with Tiffany Haddish), her second SHOWTIME special. The first was the Alma-nominated Latin Divas of Comedy. She openly admits she is no longer a girl and really not bad, more mischievous and THAT has kept her in heavy rotation on the newly launched Kevin Hart station!

Being blessed with as many opportunities as she has the drive and talent to pursue,

Monique currently writes, produces and delivers a weekly show on LA’s venerable KFI AM 640, and follows it up with her “3rd Hour” Podcast (everything she wants to say without FCC restrictions), also developing a TV pilot and tours with variations of her stand up and 1 Woman Show: Not Skinny; Not Blonde, also the title of her 1 Hour, and third! SHOWTIME special now available ON DEMAND & Amazon Prime.

Twenty -five years ago, as her hometown experienced the beginning of a renaissance, she honed her unique skills in the coffee houses and cabarets of early South Beach. After the New Times named her “Best New Talent”, the rising comedian was invited to the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival and was launched into the national spotlight. She never looked back. Five years later, Monique was the focus of Barry Diller’s WAMI, which brought TV and another layer of attention to Lincoln Road. Then, radio found her first drive time, then, winning the Million Dollar Morning Show Contest: this solidified her voice on IIheart Radio.

A quarter of a century later, her hourglass figure and stopwatch wit only improved with time. This writer, performer, air talent, talk show hostess, podcaster and marathon runner’s (ok, only halves until now) use of on-point humor, take-no-prisoners honesty, unflagging positivity and total authenticity, create tailor-made, seemingly in the moment, electrifying, standing “O” inducingperformances that have kept her in constant demand and are now cementing a future on stages, speakers and screens big and small!
